There will be a coach trip on 22nd February 2018 to tour Shepton Mallet Prison.
The tour takes 2hrs and the guides are prison officers who have worked at the prison.
There is a very dark side to the building and its history. The Kray twins were there at one time apart from other well known criminals. The prison closes its doors in April of next year when it will be turned into shops and flats so this may be our only chance to see what it is like.
After the tour I am looking for somewhere to have some lunch, I will notify you all when I have done so.
I am taking names now if you are interested.
